legal careers

Christopher J. Reed counsels start ups, entrepreneurs, closely-held businesses, and small to mid-size businesses on the legal aspects of operating and growing a business.  His legal practice focuses on business law, real estate, intellectual property, and employment law.

With a background in finance and management, Christopher provides legal guidance that will assist you in achieving your business objectives and managing the day-to-day operations.  He routinely advises businesses on:

  • entity formation;
  • corporate governance and shareholder agreements;
  • drafting and reviewing contracts, operating agreements, and buy-sell agreements;
  • commercial real estate purchases and leases;
  • preparation and review of loan documents,
  • acquisition and sale of assets; and
  • registration of intellectual property.

As a business advisor, he understands the importance of securing a business’ intangible property that is often overlooked.  He helps business owners to understand not only the value of their ideas, creative products and intellectual property, but how to protect and preserve them through the registration of trademarks, service marks, and copyrights.

Additionally, Chris’ legal practice involves navigating through life’s legal process of buying, selling or refinancing a home, and planning for your future.  He assists individuals, couples and families with their real estate transactions – advising on the closing and settlement of property, securing title insurance, deed preparation, and landlord tenant issues.  When it comes to securing your financial assets he advises his clients on planning for their estate and routinely drafts wills, powers of attorney, and living wills.

A graduate from Monmouth University, Christopher earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Management.  While attending the university, he played on the football team and was selected to the All North East Conference Team in 2007.  In 2011, he completed his J.D. from Villanova School of Law, where he was a staff writer and associate editor for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal

An adjunct professor at York College of Pennsylvania, Chris teaches a course on the judicial process discussing the relationship between the Judicial Branch and the political, social, and economic arenas of society.

Chris is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and York County Bar Associations.
